Draft · September 2026 · Plain language; the legal version follows.

This page says what we collect, why, and how to make us stop. The friendlier version, in Iris’s words, is the promise. Where the two differ, this page governs.

What we collect

Why

To write introductions, arrange meetings, send the emails you have asked for, and keep the service running. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.

Who sees it

The small team that runs Iris, and the service providers we need to operate: hosting, a database, and email delivery. Each is bound to use your data only to provide that service to us.

What is shared with other members

Nothing, until both people accept an introduction. After that, first names and the reason Iris wrote. Never your sources, contact details, or notes.

Keeping and deleting

Disconnecting a source deletes what Iris kept from it within 24 hours. Deleting your account deletes your record, sources, notes, and open introductions. Records we must keep for legal reasons are kept only as long as required.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to iris@friendofiris.com.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, Iris will write to you before it takes effect.
